Daily Kor for January 3, 2011

It's a slow news day, but that's hardly a surprise since half the nation may still be hungover. Lots of news stories about what people think will happen in 2011, but the Kushibo News Service tends not to consider that news. Unless it's bold, or ballsy, or wholly unexpected (but realistic), or it's a slow news day.

What's newsworthy to me is that it's apparently so cold in Seoul that the Han River is freezing up. Yeah, yeah, I know, that happens at some point every year, but it's still fascinating to me. Meanwhile, I slept with a fan on. (I guess I shouldn't brag about the weather, or else it won't be just English teachers who hate me.)

Your strange sex-realted attacks on Palin are starting to really lessen your blog, especially as all of the links lead nowhere.

You do realize, don't you John, that the final stories in the Daily Kor are not to be taken seriously if they don't have a working link. In an otherwise very serious set of news stories each day, this is my one attempt to keep things light, and I've been doing it from the beginning. It's very hit-and-miss, with daily "Far Side"-like consistency.

And I make fun of all kinds of people, including Kim Yuna and the VANKster nationalists.

If you are a Sarah Palin supporter, methinks you are being a tad oversensitive, as I've been moderately generous in dealing with the former Governor (see here and more recently here). I have criticisms of her as a candidate, but they are well-reasoned. Besides, Sarah Palin is a good sport. (My preferred Republicans for president are Huckabee or Romney.)

At any rate, I'm not sure what sex-related attack you see in today's gag. Sure, the past two days were clearly sex-related — and having attended a few conservative Protestant churches where Sarah Palin's naïve ideology about sexuality dominated, I think I've earned a right to poke fun at it — but today's was simply about her looking like she's forming the GOP logo's elephant trunk with her left arm. Nothing sexual there at all.

I could care less about that Palin, but I do enjoy this

However, you are coming off one note in your not very funny use of her. Sprinkle Michelle Obama in some times to become bit more well-rounded.

I had some Sarah Palin in the queue, and I just wanted to get it out of the way. Michelle Obama does not lend herself to funny pictures (this was not my best work).

Nor does the First Lady lend herself to ridicule. Just when Michelle Obama comes into the spotlight, Sarah Palin steps in front of her to make sure that ridicule to go around will be sent her way.
