Play it safe.

I remember when Korea was ruled by prudes. They're still around, but Korea's version of Madison Avenue doesn't always pay too much attention to them.

This planned ad campaign by Hankook Tire, the Chosun Ilbo reports, which "playfully alludes to safe-sex campaigns," has some people's underwear in a bunch. The ad features a tire inside what looks like a half-opened condom wrapper as it tells consumers to "Play [it] safe."

I love this line by a marketing executive with the company:
Hankook Tire concluded condoms fit well into the company's brand concept of "enjoy driving" because condoms symbolize safety and are associated with pleasure.
Enjoy driving. Yeah, that's one way of putting it. Sphere: Related Content

It turns out this concept and even the image was almost completely ripped off from, I think it was, one of Michelin's ads in the US. Too lazy to look up the link now, though.

Actually, Gord, the Chosun Ilbo had an article about that last week. I have been meaning to update this post but I've been too busy with other things.
